enumerate

Environment in package list.

Synopsis

\begin{enumerate}[styleclass]
  \item[label1]
    ...
  \item[label2]
    ...
        .
        .
        .

\end{enumerate}

Description

Creates a numbered list. Each list item is started by a \item command
and reaches up to the next \item command or the end of the environment.

The items are numbered by arabic figures 1. 2. 3. ... by default. This changes with
the nesting level. If the enumerate environment is contained in another enumerate
environment (which is itself not conatined in any other enumerate environment), numberung
switches to lower-case alphabetic a) b) c) ..., in next deeper level to lower-case
roman i. ii. iii. iv. ..., and in the level below that to upper-case alphabetic
A. B. C. ...

The numbering style can also be influenced by the style class, styleclass, if specified.
The following style class values are recognized by default: arabic, alph, Alph, roman,
Roman. They stand for the following numbering styles: arabic figures, lower-case
alphabetic, upper-case alphabetic, lower-case roman figures, and upper-case roman figures,
respectively (cf. also exampled below).

If the \label command has an optional argument labelN, the latter overwrites the default
numbering of that label. See \item for details and examples for that.
